I think this website is a great idea for raising awareness and sparking a discussion on this topic!
With efforts like these, hopefully the manufacturers will start paying more attention and stop the rush for more and more megapixels for the advertising sake of more megapixels.

Great idea for a site. I love the Fuji 31d, I’m looking to upgrade my Olympus E-1, and would love to find a 6mp camera with the other performance and features of an Olympus E-3 or Nikon D300. Imagine a 6mp D300, you could get clean photos at ISO of 6400 or 12200!! You’d rarely need a flash! 6mp is fine for 8×10 or 11×14 prints.

Glad to see someone providing an objective view of this vexed subject.
The megapixel race by competing manufacturers is ludicrous and not in the best interest of photographers yet they still go on with it and, sadly, many uninformed consumers are still taken in by it.
Time for it all to stop and for manufacturers to come clean about the whole deal.
